Now that it can be unlocked I think this is a great device, prob it can tether internet w/o the required plan...

No Windows Phone 8 makes this a dead-on-arrival device. It's unfortunate, because Nokia needs to start flooding the WP market with inexpensive unlocked devices.

As long as that is ALL that you will do with it, then it's an OK buy.
WP7 is basically dead and potential purchasers shouldn't expect many more new apps for it. There are already a lot of WP8 only apps and there will only be more.

That said, this isn't a very good price. It's been around $170 before.

...so my Palm OS devices still makes calls, texts, and surfs the web. Doesn't mean I would pay $200 for it in this day and age.

This is wroth at best, maybe $150. MAYBE. Running a deprecated OS, that already has an app store that sucks, that won't receive newer apps as development moves to WP8.


I'm learning to make WP8 apps now, and I know there's no way in hell I'm going to bother supporting older WP7 devices.

its crazy old phones with hardware that was ancient when they were released are still selling for this kind of money.

The Lumia 520 will cost $150 brand new and has marginally superior specs, which means Nokia can probably make these for less than $100, and that is brand new!!

These consistently sell on ebay for $160-170 or so, and even that isn't worth it. If moron consumers finally realize this, the prices will drop for everyone.

To be quite honest, I'd prefer the 800. No LTE or front camera, but its literally the most beautiful phone I've ever seen, and is ergonomic perfection.

I still think this is a good phone for the price. The navigation is really good on this.

and for all you Windows Phone haters, its the hardware manufacture that makes the difference here. I've been so impressed with Nokia support for their Lumia line.
