Is 3d and 1080p make that big of a difference for a 32 inch??? Was thinking of buying Vizo LED 32inch for 250 on amazon.

For use as a computer monitor, all 32" 1080p tv's are not alike.
Some will be great, some will stink. Generally, only TV's that use 4:4:4 subsampling will display text well. Others will have a hazy look to it... many people get headaches without the 4:4:4 Also, some TV's allow the various noise reduction circuitry, pull down circuitry, etc. to be disabled in "gaming" or "computer" mode. This significantly affects the tv's use as a monitor. The panel lag is usually minor compared to the lag introduced by all the other stuff that makes the TV a TV... so you have to take that into consideration. I would research this particular model well before planning to use it as a monitor. Good Luck! Regards,

i got it from walmart last may and its been pretty good so far, except for
1) the power on - you have press the power button for a while to turn on the TV (remote or the TV) - apparently this is a defect that i have seen others experience with this set on the internet. 2) when connected to PC via HDMI, and powered on, the default view mode will be 'standard' when it should be 'Full 100%' - the standard aspect mode crops the task bar and start button... |

I bit.
Bedroom was a 24" LCD monitor hooked up to an HP Microserver. Tomorrow, it'll be this 32" and paired up with a fleabay 360 slim, perfect for Netflix/Media Center. edit: I hear the sound sucks, but its 10w can't be anywhere as bad as the limited sound from a 1.5w computer monitor that is routinely drowned out by a snoring Boston Terrier. I assume the "10w + 10w" in the NewEgg description is two 10w speakers... which, could be worse. Last edited by drunkhumping; 03-07-2013 at 12:17 PM.. |

I paid $380 for the Panasonic TC-L32S1 3 years ago, and I still love it. It looks like it's no longer available. I'm not sure what a current equivalent would be. When I was researching TVs, I found HardForum to be the best reference for using a TV as a computer monitor: http://hardforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=78 avsforum is definitely a good reference as well, but it's harder to find computer-specific threads. If you can find an owners' thread on avsforum for the specific TV, then that's a great source for potential problems and also good picture settings. |

Get the Wi Fi vizio 32 in. It's about $300, I was going to buy it but everyone I saw that had it was charging me tax. |

The real question for me is whether I can kill overscan.
Notes in a thread I found were not completely confidence-building: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum...dd-monitor Good luck! Jon |
