1,000 iu of vitamin D

Anyone know of any deals on 1,000 iu of vitamin D? i think id prefer the soft gels. best i can find is 12.99 at vitamin shoppe. more for less is better too..

I use the 5000 IUs. You can safely take up to 5000/day. Take them at dinnertime btw. This is what I get. 3 months supply for $10.

What else do you get?

i saw on a site that I should take

600 mg. of calcium
1g. - 2g. of omega 3 fatty acids
Iron 27 mg. of iron
Grapeseed oil 100 mg. to 400 mg.

Not sure on the grape seed oil and the rest i could get in my daily vitamins except the omega 3's

Every person's supplements differ per their lifestyle and normal health needs. I take biotin to help keep my hair and nails strong and healthy, but that isn't exactly a vitamin that most men want or need.

Personally I am anemic, but iron pills can be really rough on the body, so I try to avoid iron pills and just try to each iron rich foods. Unless you are a pregnant woman 27 mg of iron a day is probably too much to take. If you suffer from chronic anemia and really want to take iron pills then I would stay closer to a dosage of 10 mg a day if you maintain a healthy lifestyle (again, just my personal opinion and experience). Iron can also react with other medications and supplements (including antacids, painkillers, calcium, etc) so I REALLY suggest that you see your doctor or at least go to a clinic to discuss your diet before taking serious dosage of supplements, especially the super high dosage of iron that you listed above.

I get two hundred softgels from Walmart for $6 in the 1,000iu, it's the cheapest that I have seen. It is Spring Valley High Potency. I only use it for a week a month. Unless you have a specific need for Vitamin D, you will be wasting your time taking so much of it.

I used to get vitamin D at Albertsons, when they have their buy one get one free sales. That was much cheaper than anywhere else. I no longer live near an Albertsons store so am not sure of the exact cost savings anymore. However, checking their ad just now, they have the Natures Bounty vitamins on sale BOGO free at the moment.
