Not my experience. Mine has been great, and even better with the latest version of Jelly Bean (4.2) that they pushed out a few days ago.

I think its a pretty good alternative to the Nexus 7 if you want a 10 inch screen and don't care about the 32 GB storage.

If so, I think you're forgetting to include ~8% sales tax, which puts it at close to $300.

Either deal is a pretty good price for a Transformer. You probably won't see much price movement over the next few months on the TF300. I doubt it goes below $200, unless we're talking about a Cowboom deal or something.

I'm generally a big believer in refurbs. However, I've had 2 disappointing experiences with refurbs -- and one of those two was a refurbished iPad 2 that I bought from Newegg. When you buy a refurb from Apple, they put an entirely new case on it and ship it in a new and sealed box. The "refurbished" iPad 2 that I bought from Newegg had scratches and it just looked dirty (it was white). The box wasn't in great shape -- which I would have forgiven if not for the fact that the tablet looked pretty used. Companies like Canon and Onkyo and Apple and Nikon have made me come to expect refurbished goods that look brand new.....and Newegg's "refurb" definitely didn't compare. It just looked used. For that, I'd just buy used. I don't mind buying used, I just don't like buying refurbished if it's misrepresented.....

I have been watching the TF300's for the last few months and this is definitely a slick deal if you're in NY. No reason to pay more for the 32GB version when microSD's are so cheap. Thumbs up!

Easy to root and install custom roms as well.

Wow, I paid not much less than this for a nexus 7 just a few weeks ago. I would have definitely preferred this.

Nope, my Brand New 32 gb tf300t was not at BB, it was onesaleaday. And I paid 284 shipped. I also got the keyboard for $50..that was at BB.

it can be done dufus ...I am an avid bargain shopper (sder 4 life lol) and scored a tf 300tl which has the sim card for lte access (very nice) the item was new open box chit but basically new still had the wrap on the front ...I nailed it 4 350 total/w tax and I also got a new keyboard with it and not the oem crap a brand new in the box tf 300 keyboard never used !!!!!!!!! so there go....u make the choice!!!
