I often see people talk about amazon price matching on this website...not once has that ever worked for me.. They always give me the strict company line.

i actually bought the 552s yesterday. the way the deal was stated was that i paid the full $349 for the dumbbells and they threw in the free s/h for them and also the stand + free s/h. after tax, my total was $371.
i've also been looking for a great deal on these but had gotten tired of waiting. i missed out on the "bootcamp" promo which had the 552s, stand, and bench for around $370 with free s/h.
what convinced to buy was the rep told me that if the price does drop within the next 6 weeks, i can contact them and they will match whatever the best offer is. hopefully this offer is the first step towards them trying to pad their 1st quarter #s and they will offer something better sometime soon. from reading other forums, it seems like they usually offer some deals in march. the rep also said they try to make a push at the end of each quarter. if no better deals come, then i guess i got an ok deal since i was tired of waiting like i said. not slick, but good enough for me to jump. so ironic, i bought yesterday after waiting since august for another deal and this deal dropped today.

also, was able to get them on 18month deferred interest so it comes out to approx $20 a month by putting them on my nautilus account.

the rep and customer service was A+. he said he'd contact me if a better offer dropped within the next 6 weeks. we'll see if he follows through but i was surprised he even mentioned it. i figured if something did drop, my SD deal alerts would let me know anyways. (i ordered via phone)

p.s. maybe if everyone is patient, they'll have to offer a better carrot to motivate people to buy. i think they can do better than this offer.

I continue to dream about the bootcamp deal. It was basically a one day offer. What a deal.

Hope to see it again someday, but like you, i'll probably break before it happens.
