SS Husky 26" 9 Drawer tool box $148 B&M YMMV

I got the last one from top shelf for $148. According to their inventory screen it was the only one available in the area (Central Texas). Now I need to finesse this past the wife.

Great looking SS chest/cabinet especially for under 150 but its not a heavy-duty tool cabinet. No issues with the top chest but adding an extra rivet on each of the cabinet drawer slides should reduce the sway and bowing out of the sliders while stiffening the thin metal drawers. Peeling the protective film is easy compared to removing the huge safety sticker=PIA.

its actually pretty similar to craftsman's $400-$700 [sears.com] line of tool-chests in terms of "sturdiness". craftsman just aint what it used to be, thats why i just happly went with this husky deal.

Made a good score today - 10 sets in the Fenton, MI store (cleaned them out). The sheet metal is a little thin, but for a home garage I think they'll be great. It seems like none of the upper/lower key sets match, was that true for everyone else as well? At home it probably doesn't matter anyway, but would be handier if they did!

They weren't hidden in the store or anything, 7 sets on the top shelf 2 rows away from tools in hardware and another three sets by the pro desk with a big sign advertising the $148 price.

Inventory checker showed two in stock at my local HD. I went there and has an associate look it up and their system said they had 4. When I asked the guy in the tool department he said, "yeah, we've been looking for those things for months."

He recruited another guy and the three of us scanned the store. After about 45 minutes of no luck, I noticed another 9 drawer tool chest sitting up on the top shelf over in the plumbing section. I had them run a price check on that model (360620) and it rang up at $129. This one is black rather than stainless steel, but that didn't bother me. I decided for $129 I'd give it a shot.

I wasn't able to find these at my store. But what I was able to do is go here [homedepot.com] and they have the all black one for $178 + free shipping to store.

IMO don't toss the receipt or box too quick...my local HD placed these same black 27" ones in the clearance section for 158 and I expect to see the price drop big time to move them out. Not the top top quality but the arguably the best for the price anywhere

I'll be sure to keep an eye out. Question though, if my local HD has the price on these for $148 but have none in stock, will they price match since I bought mine off the website?

Stores are probably clearing out unsold chest/cabinets to make room for newer inventory so your price-match question is best answered by your local store manager who will have to deal with your "returned" online order=ymmv

Found another SS chest/cabinet combo but this display was too beat-up/scratched to pay $219...maybe $50-75 for out-of-box scratched dislocated drawer etc.

Might want to keep an eye out for the another cabinet that might get marked down to make room for new inventory: Husky41 in. W 13-Drawer Chest and Cabinet Set SKU #635958. Nice width but not enough depth to be a serious tool chest/cabinet competitor

Seen as low as 198 for the display which I missed when I left my mind somewhere else

I went to Home Depot today looking for the stainless steel 26" tool chest/box that was in a SD post form a month ago. They didn't have any in stock. On a hunch, I looked it up on my smartphone and it shows $249 online. I asked Home Depot to look up the "store SKU" hoping the price would still be lower. The price is $148 !! in store only They ordered 2 of them for me and they're being shipped to my store for free!
