not sure where you get thses sugar alcohols are "natural" as Im sure these are manufactured and added..not naturally occurring from fruit or veggies...and as far as neutral...you are spot on.. its not really vanilla flavored its more no flavor...when I drink it with water it makes me think of what chalk would taste like...

but I found a good way to make it drinkable LOL
1-2 tbsp Chocolate cocoa (non dutch processed if you want more antioxidants bit it is slightly more bitter vs dutch processed)
2 tbsp instant coffee
2 of the vitacost scoops vanilla whey (which is approx 1 normal scooper of whey)
1 cup of milk (ive not used water or almond milk but if you dont use or like dairy you can always try it)
ice
blend and you got yourself a chocolate mocha protein shake

you can always add some splenda, stevia or whatever if you want it a little sweeter... or post workout you can add in some dextrose/maltodextrin for added post workout carbs

if you want more protein I would add a scoop of chocolate or some other brand vanilla instead of increasing the scoops of the vitacost in the shake as it might start to taste "chalky"

Stuff gave me the poops. Used it for 3 months and never built up tolerance. Taste is okay (not a big factor IMO). The savings weren't worth the rumble guts.

That's similar to what I've been doing.

About 1-1/2 cups 1% milk, 1-2 frozen bananas, 1 TBL dark cocoa powder, roughly 1-2 tsp espresso powder, 1 scoop of ON and sometimes some creatine powder. Blend.

Depending on how much frozen banana you use, you can make it to the consistency of a shake or something that completely resembles a Wendy's frosty. Good stuff....especially to cool you off after a workout or on a hot day.
