My experience with splitters has been very good, especially on a plane to share a movie on a laptop.

The only issue is that different headphones may have different volumes for the same given source volume. In my case the larger over the ear headphones were quiter than my earbuds

I remember purchasing a white Belkin splitter to use two speaker sets for my PC. The quality is great, cord is nice and sturdy.

Did some digging around on a Chinese wholesale website. Pretty sure it's this one.

Doing the math, it looks like they get each splitter for $0.7176. For two, it's $1.4352. eBay fees are 17 cents, PayPal fees, assuming they have a micro-payments account, are $0.1475. Total right now is $1.7527. That leaves 19.73 cents for shipping. They're probably getting a better deal than 72 cents per splitter, and selling this just to increase their feedback.

I bought one. Let's see how they ship it.

The Belkin one may be better quality, but one downside is the size of the male connector. A lot of people with iPhone/iPod cases need a smaller plastic portion around the male connector to fit into through their cases. Compare the diameter of the part just past the jack to the diameter of an original iPod/iPhone headphone. My guess is this is why people complain that the Belkin one doesn't work in the ~40 1-star reviews on Amazon. Just see what works for you before you buy
