Thanks, Rep given.
Been looking for a good deal on a tent and this fit the ticket. Plan on using a blow up mattress so it will do nicely.

We own the Red Canyon (its slightly bigger than this one). As others have said, the coupon applies to the Red Canyon as well.

I highly recommend it. Lots of room and headroom in the Red Canyon. Going to be sleeping in it this weekend in fact! Smilie

With ANY tent it is always recommended to spray all of the seams with water repellent before you use it.

I highly recommend adding a can of Kiwi for roughly 6 or 7 bucks to the order. Just my two cents.

Really nice tent!! Been using it for 2 years now.....2-3 times a year... the 6 person eureka was a bit to small and this can fit 6 adults...
Setup is not easy as the 8 person coleman instant tents....however in rains this one holds up like a champ... whereas the instant tent has some leakage inside......this is a huge tent andldoes lookllike a mansion on the cul-de-sac when put up in a group of tents....

I've got 3 little kids and no tent...this is tempting. Great thing is if the bank forecloses, we can live in it?
yes, but the bad thing is it can be taxed.

69 bucks and I'd be down to replace my older coleman 8 person tent.
i have a little "3 or 4 person" tent. But really its for 2 people.. this seems like a nice buy but too would buy this if it was 69, mine was 40 bucks if i recall correctly.

One of the cross bars broke on me too.. i had only used it 2 times. Frown i had to pay 12 bucks for a new pole, plus shipping, i was a bit annoyed cuz it was 25% of the price for just a pole. Thought he pole didnt break on its own.. i went on a trip where we would put our bags out for them to toss ont he back of a truck and i think thats where it broke.

I own this Coleman Montana 8 tent. Like other posters, I did pay less at Costco, around $70 shortly over a year ago. $90 for this tent is not spectacular slick deal, but if I was in a rush and wanted to purchase online with shipping, it sounds reasonable.

I suspect there are families considering this tent at this price, so I will share my family experience with the tent.

My family has used the Montana 8 several times and are satisfied with it as a bare minimum amount of space (in my opinion) for 2 parents and 4 kids on 3 airbeds. I am tempted to replace my Montana 8 with the Red Canyon for the extra space.

The Montana 8 handles wind and rain well during average thunderstorms, but you must put a bit of time into anchoring all the strings and stakes for maximum benefit.

The ventilation in this tent is great compared to some other older models that I have had in the past which had poor ventilation. It helps reduce heat and minimize the effect stuff in the air.

It would be best to have at least 2 persons to setup and disassemble this tent because the poles and tent are so long. One person might be able to manage with a struggle, but if there is only one able person, then why have such a large tent.

The angle on the sides is fairly steep to handle wind. That makes it really tight inside if you have double-height queen airbeds.

There is a small zippered opening in the lower back center to run a power cord into the tent from outside back (opposite the front center door), and has fared well while having a power cord in the rain.

I have had some minor issues with the tent. There is a vertical rod for the door that acts like a tension spring. The first time I used the tent, that rod poked a hole through the lower rubber piece that holds it in place (there is also an upper rubber holder for that rod), so the door does not work as well as designed, but we can still open and close it. The issue was not worth the trouble for me to return it, but it is annoying. The other issue, which is really my fault, and a lot of other tents are like this, is that the material melts easily near something hot. For a brief second, we accidentally brushed the tent roof cover against the glass of our running propane lantern while we were assembling the tent in the dark, and that melted a huge hole in the tent roof cover.

I use 2 queen airbeds, one on each side, and a full/double airbed in the middle. This leaves a little space on one side to put couple large suitcases or a few smaller items. If you put a queen bed in the middle, you will be stepping on the bed when entering the door, and will have little to no space to keep other items on the floor anywhere. The Montana 8 is only 7 feet deep. The Red Canyon is 10 feet deep. I am tempted to get the Red Canyon as it sounds like its not so tight with 3 airbeds. However, I do not think $100 after $20 discount for the Red Canyon is very slick either.

Those are really nice tents. They're also $500. I'm sure the quality shows that it's worth it, but anyone who is interested in this tent is absolutely not interested in spending $500 on one of the Kodaik ones. Conversely, anyone who is willing to spend $500 on one of those already knows why they wouldn't buy a $90 Coleman.
Very true.. None of the Kodaiks are under $400. I would be looking for a once or twice a year weekender tent and this Coleman looks perfect. Under $100 doesn't hurt either. nod

not nearly as cheap as this coleman tent. I think it was 25% off on the REI Outlet page.
