Wow way to much information for me. This whole score system is crazy. Really no need to be that complicated. This is the first time i heard about two different scores( one for banks and the other for consumers).

Why do you think Karma FAKO could be different then transunion FAKO?

I disagree. So, 2 days ago I applied for the Bank of America Better Balance Rewards card that you may have seen advertised on slickdeals. I got approved immediately. Credit Sesame notified me later that night that I had a hard pull on my credit report. Guess when Credit Karma was going to alert me? Not until the 11th. If you are looking for credit monitoring, this is not the best option, especially when it doesn't alert you that you had a hard pull for a week. One of the main reasons people get credit monitoring is to prevent identity theft.

A month ago I applied for an apartment. I received an email from CK within hours after my broker pulled my credit. Two days later, I received the same notification from TrustedID, to which I pay $125 annually for credit monitoring. So I'm not sure why you think CK would only alert you on the 11th and I'm not sure why you haven't received your alert from them yet, but I can definitely say that they do monitor your credit and report changes and inquiries very fast.

Anyone know how to get a free credit score if you have a security freeze on your credit?

A better question is: what exactly are you trying to measure? You ability to get a particular credit product? Even if you got all the FICO scores every day it wouldn't tell you anything more than the "ballpark" figure since each institution takes it own combination of the 3 FICO numbers, then applies its own metrics possibly based on the various details of your credit such as length of credit history and account opening/closing behavior.

So, yes it's not a real FICO, but even having real FICOs doesn't help you except possibly to feed some obsession about your credit score. People seem to put a lot of meaning into a number they are told "scores" them in some way.

So the score by credit karma is similar to the blood pressure machines in pharmacies? Not extremely accurate readings, but close enough. While the real fico score is like getting your blood pressure tested at the doctor's office with a cuff and stethoscope = extremely accurate.

A month ago was before beta no? They updated me very quickly before their beta program.
Otherwise, I don't know what the issue was for me because they didn't alert me and said my credit score would not be updated for several days.

I think I got in the beta in the first round, not sure how long ago it was. And while they don't update your score every day, I do believe they monitor your credit for changes every day (I hope they do, because that's what a good credit monitoring service is supposed to do).

Do you guys think you can close your beta CK account and then wait like a month and reopen it and get the regular version? Anyone tried?
