Here is the news item on this. Suggests some products may be even better priced than the apple.com outlet like the Air currently.

I'm not sure, but I don't think this is an Apple outlet. They are however authorized by Apple.

Though I don't think there currently are...in the past they have allowed some of their authorized resellers to do this.

Besides, it may be just semantic in this case. This seller name only sells Apple certified refurbished, the same products as Apple outlet and comments report being able to exchange at regular Apple stores. It would be interesting to see where the packages are shipped from, same as the Apple.com outlet orders or different. Clearly, the different sales tax handling seems to suggest that it is a different tax entity than Apple outlet but Amazon has set up subsidiaries for similar reasons for a long time. This may be some joint project with eBay itself. I suspect the revenue and margin pressures for Apple on Wall Street is making them consider options that would make Steve Jobs turn over in his grave. |

http://www.smalldog.com/product/8...efurbished Also, Apple ships its refurbs from all over the country, so it'll b hard to pin down a location as being proof (though orders are placed at the Apple Store online). I'm not sure it is revenue/margin pressures that's making them do this...it's simply another outlet (many refurb items sell out fairly quickly at the Apple Store online). |
