A different team made a third Ip Man film that's a prequel to both. It didn't have the main actor in it. The main actor refused to do Ip Man 3, which would focus on the upbringing of Bruce Lee. However, recent reports state that Ip Man 3 may start filming at the end of 2013 with the original actor (news articles are not in English, and I haven't found any American sites that are pursuing this story).

the sequel ip man 2 came out last year already in asia. exactly why i hate all these anti-piracy crap. lots of movies and tv shows from asia can't even be watched here in america until like a year or even a few years after the release. some don't even get released in america
