I investigated the tax issue a bit further, I even contacted customer service (which of course was of NO help whatsoever, when will I learn?)

I tried buying a Subway Gift card and sure enough Rakuten.com wanted to asses tax on it as well.

So it turns out that Rakuten.com is in clear violation of California Sales Tax Law.

I found a thread on the Consumerist that began discussing the issue but was never followed-up on. However, it seems that most comments agreed that taxing the XBL sub is wrong. http://consumerist.com/2012/06/27...scription/

tried to order x2 xbox live 12month cards @$55. had to have 2day shipping @$25 (for those who live in hawaii. not sure about alaska.) breaks the deal for me. would be awesome if we had free shipping here in hawaii, and those cards could easily be put into flat rate shipping envelopes...

I remember having a conversation with a store worker who was like "Well you can't tax time".
Anyways the xbox live deal is really good if without tax.
