HP2605DN sleep issue?
I have a HP 2605DN (laser/network) printer at both home and work. They work great EXCEPT occasionally when you print to it, even though the printer is on, Windows may say the printer is offline. The only way to get it to print is to turn the printer off then on again. This happens with both printers with multiple clients (machines printing to the HP). It seems to happen less at work but this may be because it's printed to more often. Does this thing have a sleep mode or something? |

#1 thing that comes to mind in your case is to suggest updating the printer driver directly from the manufacturer's web site (they do publish updates when they hear about customer problems). Another thing is to update Windows itself. You wouldn't want to disable power-saving mode except as a last resort. Good luck and let me know how things work out for you. I browse slickdeals.net with Firefox [mozilla.org] running on Linux Mint [linuxmint.com] Nadia KDE [kde.org]. Don't be jealous of my boogie [youtu.be].
