Rakuten formerly Buy.com or something so that's 1 strike. Also Total Defense needs registration and CC info so 2 strikes. Already got enough rebate problem this year with Norton so 3 strikes, I'm out.

Don't blame ya. I never trusted rebates that require credit cards and activation, but I just thought I'd throw it out there for those who like the rebate game. I wouldn't even have posted if I hadn't seen bb182 and some others saying the Total Defense rebates went through fine, but did require installation/activation.

Surprisingly, all my Parago MIRs went through without a hitch, including a December Norton Triple Bundle. I guess I'm on the VIP list.

Have you made any progress on your "audited" claims?

Tax kills the deal for me, the rebates actually seem straight forward. Also don't think I can get the $15 off. Lousy CB at Rakuten formerly Buy.com

I was somewhat considering this since it looks pretty easy to cancel after the rebate is received. However, I get the error "Invalid Code" for GET15SOFTWARE. Am I doing something wrong?

Update: Actually it looks like GET15SOFTWARE is only for new customers. Seems like too much risk and hassle if that is the case. Thanks anyhow for posting this.

Yeah, sorry, I forgot to mention that (I just added it in the OP).

You can just create a new account with a different e-mail to use the $15 coupon.

I don't know why "Rakuten" would make all those $15 coupons restricted to new customers. Technically, we're all "new" customers because it's a different company that took over. If you want to keep us on board, you better be sweetening the pot with coupons or FAR items.

Someone should send them a link to all of the TD and NewEgg FAR stuff in the past few months. They not only have traded in a well known name (Buy.com) for one that can easily be misspelled, they are getting left behind in the race for us bottom feeders on the deal boards.
