Well, unless shotguns are somehow exempt from being considered WMD's, errr, I mean, "assault weapons", this actually IS one. It has a pistol grip, after all. We all know that every weapon with a pistol grip is a weapon of war and has no place in a citizen's home.

As is this well-known weapon of war.. you know, the one that many of the world's armies use to subjugate the masses:

It's amazing how lethal a .22LR bullet can be when it's shot out of this military weapon, which with its pistol grip and other "military characteristics", is an "assault weapon" 5 times over.
Yeah but they make it in pink. How bad can it be? Stick Out Tonguebounce

1) Is the $202 still a price worth jumping on? (I don't have a pistol-grip shotgun yet.)

2) For home defense, would you use regular shotgun shells or slugs?

Thanks!

You'll want something a little smaller than a slug. 00 buck shot is the ticket.

Never even heard of Stevens. I have an NEF Pardner pump 12Ga under my bed. Was $170 locally @ Dicks Sporting goods.

I think Mossberg 500 is a more suitable option IMO cause it holds 8+1 shells. But thats just me.
I bought a 500 a couple months ago, and the shop told me it was an 8+1. However, using 2 3/4" shells I can only fit 7+1. Am I doing something wrong? Any ideas?

I own this shotgun. I've probably put 100 shells through it. Not a bad option for home defense. The one I have has ghost ring sights. Well worth the $200 in my mind. Everyone I talked to about this shotgun has told me that this is a Winchester 1300 clone.

I would recommend the shorter 2 inch shells. Less velocity = less perimeter damage, gets the job done and you can fit more in the tube.
