Thanks. Got one in the nearby store. They did not honor the coupon, saying it was not the original coupon but copied version. However, they did offer me a 10%off discount. not too shabby

Just use any old wall-wart 24v AC adapter (instructions say lesser AC or DC voltages will work, but they are not powerful enough for good steady power to unit).

Had this thermo for several years now. Never had a problem with it. Hard to program? It's one of the easiest... as you can simply use any web browser to access the device (via WiFi) and program it. It's as easy as entering the time and temp for each day.

They sub'ed out the phone app to another company and it's improved TREMENDOUSLY over the part year or so. The latest update is very nice. They added slide rules to each day for programming. Just pick a temp and slide the bar up or down to change the time. Using the app is what makes this thermo worth every penny.

Does this thermostat require an external service or subscription to use the wi-fi features?

It does not require any subscription or extra cost.

As long as your phone has a data connection of any kind, you can access the thermo. The thermo connects via WiFi to your wireless router. It then connects to your account on RadioThermostat's server. You then only need to be able to myradiothermostat.com in order to access the thermo. You can do this via the app and any data connection or via any web browser.

I use the web browser to program the thermo as it was much easier to do this then to hit a million buttons in a certain order as most thermo's require. But to be honest, the new features on the app make it very easy as well.

I have a HTPC would love to automate so that heater is on only when I am at home.. no time conditions.

They sell it $69 here in MD... Found one returned package. Cashier refuse to use the print out 10 off 50 lowes, claim they nowadays take original ones only....

Had to drive 45 mins each way to get one at the only local store that still had one. It was the lat one and an open box. I wish I could have gotten two.
They took the 10 off 50 with no questions. I had an original coupon that was mailed to me, not printed.

I bought this unit a year ago for $100 for our beach house. I can raise the temp. 2 hours before we get there and it's perfect when we arrive. Reverse in summer. Pretty easy to install and it works flawlessly with IPhones,iPads,Android,PCs. Best $100 I spent in a long time. At $65 it's a no brainer. They must be coming out with a newer model.

You can get this for free if you are a customer part of the Gas Networks as they offer up to $100 mail in rebate for wifi thermostats (I called and confirmed this will apply to this deal).
