I have the same thought, and poking around it seems there's a way to do it if you want to use your G wire and make a small jumper as explained in the video. The G wire controls the fan, and with it connected to the usual G terminal you can turn the fan on and off manually if you wish. Not many people do this though, so you can repurpose that G wire as your C wire by plugging it into the C slot on both your thermostat and furnace terminal. Then you just jumper the Y to the G on your furnace terminal which makes sure the fan still turns on with the furnace, and you're good to go! If you never turn the fan on manually then you'll never know the difference. I haven't tried it yet because I don't have any spare wire to jumper the connections, but once I do I'm going to do this as well.
