Arby's BOGO Reuben 3/15 - 3/17

having worked in NYC and sampled REAL reubens, let's just call this an Arby's corned beef sandwich. For $6, it's a lot of filler of processed stuff. A few bucks more will net you a real reuben from most sandwich shops. Of course for quantity...this is a deal I suppose.


This coupon will only add to the obesity our super-size me, soda drinking, buffet craving, oh...and BOGO seeking public creates for America...joy joy joy. With my luck, the next guy I sit next to on the airplane will be 300 lbs and holding two Reubens from Arby's...LOL

ok, so i got bored and looked up the nutritional value on this reuben. If you can manage to polish off both bogo sandwiches in one sitting, assuming no other food (ie. their curly fries, nor soda) and drink only water, you'll have (for the day).....
92% of total fat, 80% of the saturated fats, 36% of the cholesterol, 134% of the sodium for the day...ugh.

BUT on the positive side, you are getting 128% of the protein you need for the day, 60% of the iron, 40% of vitamin C and 70% of calcium!! and somehow you're getting 32% of the dietary fiber needed. Can't be from the enriched white buns, so maybe theyre' throwing fibers from something into the meat mix. :-)

I've eaten many Reubens before and when I had one from Arby's last year, I thought it was very good for it being fast food. It's definitely worth it for $3.

So what exactly makes this a "New York Style Reuben". Is this just their regular reuben sandwich with a fancy name for St. Patrick's day? Although, if I look on Arby's website under Market Fresh Sandwich it's showing a Double Stacked Reuben (limited time offer)

I think maybe we're getting more MEAT !!! (or perhaps just thicker slices of bread)

UPDATE: Just checked the fine print and it says: Offer applicable with purchase of a Reuben or Double-Stacked Reuben sandwich.
We ARE getting more MEAT
