Couch help? repair possible?.

Ok, I have a lane leather couch that I love, great. PX has a couch for 1799 (2000+ off post) and its clearance last one in stock for 1399. However I know they will give more because there is a damaged piece, very minor and I dont think it will be hard to fix. so Try to get it for 1150.

but its a little different, i'll make another pic in a sec to show the damaged part and il explain how its damaged. In mean time I put mine on CL a few minutes ago for 300. already got an email so im going to hold off to see what you guys think.

Its full power retractable on 4 seat parts of it as well.

The RED sqaure. Its just the little recatnagle piece it sits right there and theres 2 little bolts that screw to the couch to the piece on bottom of it. It looks like it got stripped out and its just 2 pieces of wood with 2 holes with nothing holding them together.

I was thinking of a way to remate the pieces. ?? anyone?

Literally Just two wood square surfaces, with no bolt to connect them the holes looked like th ey got stripped or broke. and theres no entrance into the back of the piece to put back on. Could make a small hold (theres a leather flap/back that covers entire back that i can move, make a small hole or something and screw 2 bolts from that into the base wood part of couch yes?. any ideas?. ive never repaired a couch. but for almost half off and thats the only issue is soooo nice. all power recliners i must add and it feels like im on a cloud when i got on it.


This is what I have currently. I've truly enjoyed it. but time to get a cloud feeling couch where i can come home from work and crash on in joy.



This is a better pic of look similiar except stitching etc isnt the same. its jsut the same layout as the one im looking at. Except its brown and on the very left end of that couch doesnt have that little circle end/where leg rest is. so if i sell couch for 300, i'd be paying 800 ish for a new couch.

What about a super strong wood glue? would it work since its not a part that you will be really sleeping with back against since its above the cup holder. ?

i am not a wood working man.

Here is an entire list of types of joiners for wood, something must be able to work to put those two pieces together, the question is if they put the pieces together on the showroom floor they must come apart for delivery purposes, would you not think so. If that is the case then you should be able to find some type of fastener within the provided link. What ever you use may become permanent, that those pieces may never be taken apart again.

That item on the far left is called a Chaise - they are normally square in design - rare that I've seen them rounded anymore on a sofa set like this.

the sectional comes apart, but that piece just broke in delivery or transit or something. something hard it it to snap the little pieces that connected it. but other than that its fine, and the sectional breaks into 2 pieces that i can put through my door. maybe its 3 pieces.

yeah the set i want doesnt have a chase, has a power recliner instead. (which looks better to me) more room for walking around.

If you want legit seating capacity dont get a sectional. get seperate pieces. If you want a you and the gf lounger then get the sectional

Edit: wife and I wanted a sectional badly. But once going through and sitting on them we realized 3 pieces was alot more practical. And if you plan on getting a house 3 pieces is alot more options for placement.

its just me and the gf, but if i have people over. would one-2 people be uncomfortable sitting oni t as well? i mean i do have guest over, just not a ton and not very often. but if they do it would be nice for them to be comfortable as well.

Sauder furniture made use of slider pins for their computer desk, hutch, corner unit, etc, 26 yrs ago; don't know what they use today, but they worked very well at holding the pieces together, so well I still have this unit for this many years.

You might want to look for something like that if you are able to get to the sides of the pieces in disrepair and drill holes the size of these slider pins - I would look for them at a stand alone Sears Hardware Store in the back where they have trays full of odd items such as this. It would make it so that if you did need to take the unit(s) apart in the future you would be able to, as the pins go no deeper than the hole that you drill into each end of the furniture.
