staples saving pass save 10% on ink

Most of the veteran Staples guys would know this....but good for noobs who are not aware of this.

FYI: You can only use the pass once per day. Even though this is not in the fine print, Staples registers will block the pass being used if you try more than once per day (from my own experience).

The cashier was trying to get me to buy this pass when I went to recycle ink, would only be worth it if you are going to buy over 150 of ink from staples to get your money back. If you have 3 or more rewards accounts to recycle ink then it would be a good purchase since we need to buy $30 every 6 months anyways.

Probably not worth the risk of using on more then ONE account.

Yep I'd say almost certainly it would show up as a link...

Probably not tied to a rewards account but since you have to give your rewards number when buying the ink to qualify the recycling they could tie them all together.

The cashier did say we could share it with other people but I don't trust them too much in regards to accurate information. I didn't look at the flyer to see if there was any restrictions on sharing. Anyone have the card or flyer to look and confirm?

The pass is linked to your rewards account. I'm a former staples employee and the back to school pass was tied to the rewards account, so most likely this would be the same.

No way the pass can be linked to a rewards account. The 10% off is a coupon card they issue. You just have to present the card when purchasing ink. You get one wallet size card and one key chain card.


Due note this is printed on the back of the savings pass:

Valid through 5/31/14 in Staples US Stores only. Savings Pass is only valid on purchases of new ink and toner cartridges. Remanufactured cartridges are not eligible. Pass is not valid on staples.com. Original Pass must be presented at the time of purchase and cannot be replaced if lost or stolen. Pass has no cash value. Each item can only be discounted by one coupon or Pass, applied by cashier in the order received and before rebates or taxes. Discounted rounded to nearest penny. No Resellers. Pass no valid on prior purchases or purchases made with Staples Procurement or Convenience Cards.


$10 of $40 coupon that are issued to mostly businesses work in conjunction with the saving pass.
