Verizon or AT&T?
Currently I'm using the Nexus 4 on T-mobile, love this phone...but I want to opt out of Tmobile and go with AT&T or Verizon. I get little to no reception at work and its frustrating especially when my supervisor calls me. So I'm wondering what the best phone is (closest to Nexus 4) and what deal is best. I'm looking at Iphone 5, S3 or Note 2. Amazon has a wayyy better price for their phones, but I'm not sure if they have any 3rd party fees. S3 - $130 cheaper on amazon wireless Note 2 - $150 cheaper on amazon wireless If any of you can help, I'll rep you, thanks for honest answers.

Well the iphone 5 is going to be pretty far away from any android phone, especially a nexus.
Since service is your biggest problem I would make your decision based on that mostly. Once you decide on a carrier you can pick a handset. I know in my area in the midwest Verizon is way better. ATT is decent when inside the city but if you go out side of it much you begin ot have a quite spotty connection or none at all. As far as the android phones you mentioned they are all pretty good. I choose to go with the Note 2 becuase it as the newest, and had the best specs. It's battery life is fantastic. It's a little big but you get use to it. The S3 is just about a year old now, and the S4 is announced next week, although it won't ship for probably another 2 months. As far as amazon wireless there are no extra fees, however if you have problems with the phone I have been told you have to go through Amazon for a replacement not verizon. Vague questions receive vague answers . . . . . .

Look into Sprint, its cheaper and only one with true unlimited date. That is if you are a heavy data user.
As for iPhone 5: I have 4S right now and I can say this much, it was my first iPhone and will be my last. There are better phones out there compared to iPhone. If you like to customize your phone then stay away from iPhone. Last edited by golakers; 03-10-2013 at 08:25 PM.. ![]() |

I checked my last couple of months data usage, and its all under 1 GB. I don't really customize my phones, but the iphone screen does look alot smaller. Im using the nexus 4 and I love the screen so trying to find something comparable to it. And looking for the best price right now for Note and S3.

Amazon does great on pricing as do several other services like Wirefly. The big thing to watch out for are the ETF charges they roll into the contract. Usually, Amazon and Wirefly require you to agree to a specific minute plan for 6 months in order to get the discount. Any attempt to lower that plan could trigger an ETF charge.
This ETF is outside and on top of the one Verizon would charge. If you decide to leave and cancel the contract, you could get hit with both companies charging you. Amazon also has idiotic ideas on what a "Contract Cancellation" is. If you take a family plan and split it into individaul accounts in order to get the upgrades for each line, Verizon has no issue with that. Amazon would consider that a breach, and would hit you with the ETF charge. They tried to do this to me but I was still inside of my return window so I just sent everything back and told them to get lost. Read the fine print, and accept that you are not going to change anything and it may work for you. Also, returning to Amazon when they send you a broken phone is annoying. Sent me a phone with a bad speaker which I had to take to a Verizon store and have them tell Amazon that it was broken before I could return it. |
