This is the same design as the Kinovo (sp?) which was listed on here a couple of months back. The design is sort of annoying as you need to press and hold the power button for a few seconds to get it to turn on and off.

I have one of the Kinivos and it works fairly well. The one thing all these speakers bother me is that I have some devices (particularly a tablet) which are weak because they expect to push earbuds through their 3.5mm jack. There isn't enough gain on these to make these loud enough fo r me. In fact with the Kinivo, its barely louder than the built in tablet speakers.

I found this true for all these portable speakers in this price range. So I'm not knocking this device just this whole class of devices and if you you have a tablet or player that you want to give a big boost, it may not work out the way you expect. Not because these aren't capable. But the tablet or player is putting out a weak signal and these don't have enough of a gain setting to help it.

I bought one of these a couple months ago from Fab. If I spent 49 bucks I would have been very disappointed. It's convenient and tiny, but the sound is not impressive - it's adequate. Sound quality and capacity on my IHome zippercase portable is way better....but that's kind of apples/oranges. So if you want a tiny speaker with adequate sound - not bad...at 19 bucks...but not great either.
