It is actually 550 loads if you have an HE washing machine, since you will only need to use half the scoop of detergent.

Before the same questions are asked:

1) If you wash your clothes in cold water, you have to use cold water detergents, since they are formulated for lower operating temperature. Regular detergents simply don't work as intended in cold water, not just this one.

2) If you have residue on your clothes, you use too much or water was not warm enough. (Run the nearest faucet until you get hot water before starting the wash).

3) Amount of suds generated by the detergent is NOT an indication of its effectiveness.

4) This detergent has very little or no fragrance at all.

5) If you want to spend more on brand name detergent that has become ghetto currency, feel free to do so, but they are very close in performance at 1/3rd the cost.

Just bought this (as the SD saying goes....buy first, ask questions later!). Are you saying that I have to use warm water for this detergent to work properly? I really appreciate your summation up there, but am wondering a bit more about this aspect.

ANY detergent that is not specifically formulated for cold water has to be used in warm water. The surfactants and enzymes in the detergent are performing at their best at a certain temperature range. They either don't work, or diminish their effectiveness when used outside of the recommended temperatures.
