Looks like this proc may not be overclockable using K10stat since this is the newer "Trinity" chip and not the "Llano" chip-- here [tomshardware.com] and here [extremeoverclocking.com] |

What about the Toshiba with the same price? Thoughts?

It's out of stock on staples. I would pick HP over Toshiba any day, trust their customer support and performance. A billion Chinese can't be wrong: eat rice.

I've never used Toshiba support, but I like many other SD members have had nightmare stories with HP customer support. They are known as having some of the absolutely worst support ever. It took me not even kidding 15+ hours of phone calls to get them to fix my laptop that was under warranty. Trying to explain anything to someone overseas who barely speaks English and sole job is to screw you over and talk to you until you can not spend anymore time on the phone is a crappy company. I had my laptop for less than 12 months actually got it on an SD deal only to have the mother board burn out and they were not going to fix it. Then only to find out that BestBuy was selling them as new and in reality they were refurbs. Complete headache.. after sending back and forth for 3 months with them finally got it fixed. Literally like trying to talk to a brick wall with no common sense. This maybe a decent deal for the price, but I would NEVER want to deal with anything HP related ever again. |

In 4 one. Almost sprang for the Deal a Day on Asus Ultrabook for 299 yesterday but refurb, warrantee and online reviews spooked me. Never did figure out whether this W8 was 64 bit but as long as I can increase to 8mb I guess it doesn't really matter. Bought with Amex so standard one year warrantee gets doubled. Got a Pavilion dv7 to replace my desktop about a year ago from Woot and I'm thrilled with it.
