Brother HL-2240 Laser Printer $60 FS @Officemax

I have a non duplex samsung laser that I got for 40 bucks. Honestly, duplex printing is great, but it's not very hard to use the built in double printing feature. All you have to do is put the paper back into the feeder. I actually think it prints faster this way because it doesn't have to turn the sheet around inside the printer, but that may not be true. I guess it just seems like it to me.

One thing I would consider is the lack of wireless. Once you go wireless printing, you never go back. It's so convenient and easy! Plus, one less wire is a great thing.

As for toner, I have posted this before and will again. Buy a refill kit, it's great and costs around 18 bucks. I buy mine from inkowl.com (btw i am not paid by them/work for them/in no way affiliated with them) and they ship it quickly and in general have a great product. I've refilled my OEM cartridge with them and never had a problem.

Drop the inkjets if you guys still use them, they are such a waste of money and time! Plus, if you print out school stuff, you can highlight text with a highlighter and it never smudges unlike with inkjets.

Had this for about 5 years with the same toner. Obviously I'm not a heavy printer, but the fact that the toner didn't dry up over such a long time is something. Even back then it was cheap, $50 without coupons. Worth double that for a solid machine. It's this kind of quality manufactures try not to attain, makes it difficult to buy another when this won't break plus cheap toner.

No duplex, no wireless, no deal. C'mon, it's 2013. That should be standard on any laser printer.

This does seem a bit expensive for what it is... I expect wireless at this price.

Somehow the printer went on sale while the deal was going on, stacked with the coupon, and came out to $30. Amazon was selling the printer for $4 less before coupon, so I got a price match lol.

This is a solid printer, have been using the one i have to couple years. Brother all the way from now on. Price point for what you get is unbeatable !!!!!!!!

Been in the market for a printer, might get this If I can get it for 40-50.

Over the past 5 years, I have bought six non-OEM toners from them for my brother hl-5250dn printer.
Except for one problem child, they have been great. they replaced the bad one under warranty and paid for shipping both ways.

I bought the earlier version (HL-2140) of this at the same price 2/2008 from staples.

Great basic laser printer for home use.

Autoduplexing and a wireless adapter would be nice features but for the money I got a solid printer at a very reasonable price.

Also, I found deals on third party toner carts that make it worth keeping and am still using today.

Side Note: To save time and money on printing, I downloaded an add-on to Firefox, Print Edit, which allows me to crop, clip, and preview my result to make sure I only print what I want. I don't know if IE has anything similar but whoever did this dd-on has saved a lot of trees, ink, toner, etc.

No wireless is a bit insane in 2013, I don't remember the last time I hooked a USB cable to my computer. To hell with extra cables! ... LOL

i got my 2280DW (scanning, duplexing, and wireless) for $70 AC last year.

Have 2280dw, It's awesome printer! you will love it even though 2240 lacks some features and you just need basic one.
