Thread Details

I've been looking for a table saw for the last few weeks, and I finally pulled the trigger on this one.

http://www.craftsman.com/shc/s/p_...921807000P

Normally retails for $350, currently marked down to $250, and I was able to use coupon codes SEARSTOOLS and SAVENOW. Price breakdown as follows:

$349.99 - Regular Price
- $100.00 - Sale
- $35.00 - SEARSTOOLS code
- $21.50 - SAVENOW code
--------------------------------------
$193.49 total

4/5 stars, which isn't bad for a Craftsman product. Just thought I'd share. bounce

Almost bit, but then read about the sloppy miter gauge...

"Where it fails it fails miserably. Most notably in the groves for the miter gauge. Industry standard (and what you'll find in the Dewalt and Bosch table saw that Sears sells also) is that the groves are simple rectangles that are 3/4" wide by 3/8 deep. This table saw (and all others by craftsman except for the really high end) are 5/8" x 3/8" and have the addition of 4 of the most annoying little flanges that jut into the groove forcing any guide rail to be 'T' shaped. Apparently, and as far as I can tell, the addition of the flanges is so your miter gauge doesn't fall out in the event that gravity starts working backwards some day. Other than that unlikely event there is NO REASON WHAT SO EVER for these flanges to exist. The miter gauge that they provide is totally worthless with a full 1/16"+ play while in the groove."

Nice deal on this table saw....have been looking for one for a while now, may have to pull the trigger on it. I would check the rip fence and make sure it's square. Take a piece of scrap and check the blade too for accuracy before slicing finished stock. Chances are you going to be making fine adjustments out of the box.

Also, good idea to get some safety push items ----> http://www.amazon.com/MLCS-9167-S...B000M0AS9G. Save your fingers!

I read about that too, but found similar complaints about a lot of other saws as well (sloppy miter gauge). Were I an aspiring professional woodworker, I would probably take these complaints more seriously, but for what I need it for, I'll just ensure that my cuts are square.

I would be all over this if I hadn't just bought the miter saw on a separate slick deal!

Looks like the removed the SEARSTOOLS code. And at the same time they are no longer allowing logins and the best part is when you login with your google account it says "Cannnot connect with Facebook now"

The SEARSTOOLS code does not appear to be working... I am new to SEARS, is this a member's only thing? Anyone? TIA! [Edited for bad spelling Smilie]

Craftsman 10'' Table Saw with Laser

I knew it would be just a matter of time before we had laser saws.

Next up, laser drills, and laser guns!
