For those who would like a larger screen and higher real contrast, there is a 27" BenQ A-MVA panel available for the same price at Fry's. IPS offers wider viewing angles and more consistent color (important for graphics pros who require precise color) but does not offer the same black depth: http://slickdeals.net/f/5897114-B...-198-Fry-s

The contrast ratio of the BenQ, calibrated to 120 cd/m2 is 2960:1, while the U2312HM's ratio was just 710:1.

Some people report the AG (anti-glare) coating on this monitor can be distracting, particularly when viewing static images having light colors, such as documents, spreadsheets, etc. I am having that issue on my current AG coated monitor. But having trouble finding a reasonably priced glossy monitor that doesn't have an ultra-glossy glass front. If anyone knows of an IPS standard glossy screen in this price range, give a shout, thanks.
