This makes it real tempting but seeing all these clear out prices lately on the system its hard to believe a newer model isn't right around the corner at E3

I seriously doubt a newer model. The price puts it right in line with the Japan price cut, I think Sony Stores are just jumping the gun for the North American price cut.

this vita is a big failure for sony. they just try to get rid of them and move on to the next model.

They showed how it will work with PS4 very much like the tablet with WiiU so it seems worth owning if you're getting a PS4. Im going to hold off until June

Lol I've been posting this up for over a month warning fellow SDers and got bashed to hell for it. I have an inside source thats been filling me in on events. The redesign is coming, the price point will start at $149. with bundles just under $200. They are even correcting their propietory memory card debacle with the Vitas relaunch. The vita wiil be able to access the cloud and ps4 much like a pogo plug. They have some really cool ideas this time around.

My inside source says it can dual boot Windows, able to play steam, IOS, Android, Wii and Xbox games too. Without credible source, anyone can make up BS.

If this is even remotely true, there are going to be a ton of pissed off Vita owners. Myself included.

I don't know what you mean by "correcting" their proprietary memory cards other than perhaps lowering the price because I thought the whole point of them was to fight piracy.

Looool, yep, that would be the common viewpoint read about on gaming forums as a way of defending Mother Sony's poor choices.

"ton" might be an exageration. I honestly wouldn't be that shocked though. The Vita in it's current form is struggling. A revamp or at least price drop (if not for console, then for memory cards) is almost a necessity if Sony wants to stick with mobile gaming.
