Deal Details

I've gotten the "free pair" from Coastal, but I usually end up wanting ones that are excluded. Today all the designer frames are 50% off with code TODAY50. Basic lens are free and include coatings and etc. I put 5 different brands in my cart and all came up half off.

Edit: FYI, I had to add the Silver package for lenses ($30) in order to get the frames in the cart, but then I went back and edited to get the bronze free lenses.

Thanks and repped. The TODAY50 still applied but it only gives like 30/35% off..I think.
Still showing 50% off frames for me. You will see less discount if you add extras (like silver or gold lens package).

Yes, I added silver package and cannot afford gold package & photochromic lens.

They basically refer to the lens thickness 1.57 is bronze, 1.61 is silver, 1.67 is gold. What you may need or what looks good is going to depend a lot on your prescription as well as glasses style (e.g. rimless isn't going to look so good if you have really bad vision with a thick lens). FWIW I have ~-4.5 in both eyes and did the 1.61 silver. I've read that basically unless you have -6 or worse that 1.67 is a waste of money. I do have a pair of their 'bronze package' lenses with the same script from about a year ago and while ok-vision wise, they are very thick.

To the OP, thanks for posting this. I was looking around and saw it on their website first, but thought it was a good deal as well. Picked up a pair of Christian Dior's for $140 shipped. Still overpriced no doubt for what it is, but much much better than 300+ at the local eye place for a designer pair. I've used coastal in the past and they've been great, and if I can put less money in luxottica's pocket the better. I've considered warby-parker, but honestly their styles are too 'hipster' for my tastes.

Its just lighter lens vs the bronze package. If your eyes are not that bad then its okay to get the bronze package.

Never mind. I am ordering the sunglasses with prescription. I have -1.50 for both eyes.

Are there sunglasses prescription lenses polarized as well?

They have a pretty limited selection of frames from what I can see. At least in the brands I would want. Also, I have terrible vision, approx -8.0 with an astigmatism. Has anyone in a similar situation had any luck being fitted properly from coastal? Finally, do they offer 1.74 lenses or is 1.67 the thinnest they carry?

Husband with -9 and progressives (but no astigmatism) got full rimmed with 1.67 lenses and they are fine. Basically same thickness and quality as his Costco ones, which are good. I do think 1.67 is the highest index they have.

My glasses shipped out yesterday. It came out from somewhere in Canada to USPS, no tracking # info at all. If package is lost, they will replace it.

For those who received the package, how do you like your eyeglasses in terms of quality and style? Mine is OK, but hate to see "Made in China" on the side.
