Original Post

Well, if you are a SD golfer like me, this is a great deal on a new set of graphite shaft irons from Callaway.

This was Golf DIgest 2012 HOT LIst club( cannot remember gold or silver rating)

I have been tracking this set on Ebay auctions since early 2013, the average price is in the low to mid $300+ shipping. So with BUY-It-Now at $300, I think it is a great deal, no waiting.

If you have a 10% off Ebay coupon from this week, for $270 shipped(YMMV), heck of a set at this price.

My last SD deal on the Srixons Z-star golf balls(my first SD deal actually) went FP, so hope you like this one.

Disclaimer: pls no TC and compare to the $199 set of clubs with putter and bag. Nothing wrong with those, just apples and oranges. Thank youBig Grin FORE

nope. just irons.

you will have to buy a driver, woods, hybrids, and a putter.
will come with wedge, but no chipper (you can use 7 iron as a chipper in most cases).
good luck out there!

If only they were steel shafts.

It comes with a pitching wedge, but other than that, no. You would still need at least a driver, sand wedge, and a putter. This is 4 iron through 9 iron plus a pitching wedge.

The steel shaft ones are lower priced than the graphite- do you just prefer the steel shafts, or is there another benefit over graphite?

My thoughts exactly. This wouldn't be a bad upgrade for my aging Callaway X-14 irons.

I think it's all a preference. I have been hitting steel shaft since I picked up the game at a young age. I have tried graphite shafts but I just feel there is too much flex. I even go with stiff shafts for my drivers too.

steel shafts have more control/feel, graphite is less stress on your back. personal preference

Any difference between the OP's link and these besides not getting a 4 iron and getting steel shafts?

I haven't kept up with the latest and greatest from Callaway in a while.

I guess I'll just get a cheap used set off CL until i can constantly hit the ball Big Grin. I'm still in the super newbie stages, only played 1 round (9 hole).
Thanks guys
