this really has nothing to do with this specific deal per se, but i've learned to stay away from the Craftsman "limited" tool chests due to the inability to expand the storage (add a middle chest). this might be a problem for someone starting out and plans on expanding their tools

Please explain why you could not add a middle box?
Besides that, incredible deal. Should be front page. Grip latch boxes are never this cheap. If I didn't already have the heavy duty ball bearing box sets, I would be all over this.

Insane price and I see no reason a middle box can't be added.

sorry, i apologize. a matching middle chest. you can grab any old middle chest but it won't match the top and bottom chests. to some that might not be a problem, to others it will. i was just sharing my experiences with these 2-piece combo limited sets. what you buy is what you get, unless you want to buy separate units that won't be integrated in a stack or you don't mind a mismatched middle chest.

griplatch is solid - the regular heavy duty ball bearing one i have is difficult to open/close so what i do is i just end up leaving them open but closed most of the way etc

as i mentioned above, it doesn't have the griplatch handle but the rest of the set is identical in construction (heavy duty, ball bearing, etc). the traditional sets (such as the above one that i have) has the middle chests either included or available for separate purchase.

the "limited" sets are just that...limited in add-ons.

however even with that said as i mentioned above, this griplatch set for the above price is a STELLAR deal. i wouldn't be surprised if Sears starts canceling orders left and right once this reaches FP. Craftsman tools chests are their profit margin bread and butter

regarding liners - HIGHLY recommended that you purchase them for each drawer. don't both with the ones sold in Sears - just go to BB&B with a 20% coupon and buy a large roll of the black foam-mesh shelf liner. it was $9.99 before the 20% coupon and it was not only enough for the 3-piece tool chest set that i have above but i had plenty leftover for other cabinets/wall storage storage shelves in my basement

TU to the OP....unfortunately I prefer the black version to match my set up. Great find for anyone ok with red... Note the strength enhancing features such as the reinforcing caster angles and I-Frame® construction in addition to Griplatch. The only con is the 12" depth top chest, but one could add a middle box which I have found b+m at extreme ymmv @25-30 clearance

how does 2659 points correspond to $20 in return. i thought the points were 3 decimal points so a $2 something cash back equivalent?

Don't remember seeing the black rolls at BB&B, so I will have to check again when I'm near one. I got baby-blue-colored kitchen liner right now.

Also, the roll at HF [harborfreight.com] is smaller, but I think the material was a little thicker.

yeah the BB&B near me has the foam mesh pattern in black. as a FYI though, each BB&B has different inventory. just go to the Customer Service desk with the pattern you like and ask if they can order a different color. they will UPS Ground it to you for free
