what''s the best time to cancel the contract on this and pay etf so you can keep the phone?

I am new to android phones, since this is my first android phone....Can any one tell me how to root this particular phone..and what might be the benefit of doing so....I will appreciate the help.

I got my Note 2 (refurb) yesterday and it had the stylus plugged into the phone. Please call AT&T, I'm sure they will send you one. Mine also had a tiny sim card (I'm upgrading from Note which uses a regular size sim card). When I registered it at the Samsung site using the IMEI number the manufacture date said Jan 2013.

It didn't have the Android 4.1.2 (multi-window) update, only came with 4.1.1. After checking for updates with no downloads, I called AT&T tech support and had them push me the downloads. Now I have 4.1.2 multi-window as well. I love it so far. I also got the SIM unlock code for my old Note in case I need it.

You should be fine with the 200mb data plan. When you order through AT&T, they won't change your plan like that. The plan will just be called the 200mb lte data plan. Its still the same plan and price.

I'd recommend switching to the new sim especially if your old phone wasn't an lte phone.

Ordered 5. 4 upgrade and 1 new line for the whole family. Ordered all at the same time. The new line had an email confirmation that it was processed and waiting for shipment within an hour. The 4 upgraded phones did not get the email confirmation sent until the next day. Got the new line phone on the 14th. The upgraded phones are on backorder. Go figure. How does that happen? Anyway, does anybody have any idea how long it may take for the backorder phones to come in? I have called att and they don't seem to have any idea.

....after spending some time on the phone with ATT's customer retention department (you will have to ask to be transferred to them from a "regular" CS person. Tell them Credo is offering to pay your ETF and give you %40 off voice for a year for you to switch to them. (which they are [credomobile.com] you should be able to get the rep to give you a $250 credit on your account) Cancel you ATT account after you use up that credit, using the money you saved to pay off (most of) the ETF. You may be able to immediately use that credit to pay the ETF directly, but I have never tried.

If the first rep you talk to is not quickly helpful, hang up and call back. Took me 2 reps, and about 30 min total. Be very nice!

When did you guys order?

I had to make an exchange and my replacement ordered on 13th is still processing.

I ordered on the 11th at 9:40pm central time. I upgraded 4 lines and added a 5th line. The new line was processed on the 11th and sent out. I have that phone. The 4 upgraded lines say they were ordered on the 12th, even though I ordered them at the same time as the new line, and have been in the "processing" phase since.
