Great move! I had been waiting for this one to drop lower than $1700 and It finally happened. I almost bought the ES7500 last week for $1500. Glad Amazon sold out of them before I placed my order. Now I got the 8000 for $85 more.
Can you please tell us how is the glare/reflection on this set? Is the screen too glossy?

Very tepid review for such an expensive set. Picture quality is the number one thing in a television. You would be better off getting a Panasonic 55ST50 on sale and saving yourself $300-500.
I agree... I have 55" ST50 and love it. Got it 6 months ago and it was still about $300 cheaper than this one. If this sammy is within your budget I would suggest VT50

I loved the UN46D8000 series... I'm assuming this one trumps it?

Not thread crapping, I just don't get Best Buy's price match policy benefit.

Why would I buy from them when I have to leave my house, go to store, get identical price, and pay tax? When I can get best price, pay no tax, and have it at my door in a couple days. Just saying if they want to "win customers" they need to go 5% below best price or something to off set the taxes I have to pay and compensate for time etc.

You mean the use tax that in most states you should be reporting by law?

which is an interesting argument because in my state you must keep track of purchases and use tax.. but it was decided to hold off on the Free Voter ID because of the hardship of driving to a DMV.

Nothing, other than being able to return the unit if an issue arises without a hassle. Nothing easier than popping that puppy into your vehicle and carting it over to best buy. Basically no worries of shipping damage either way. Having said that, I would most likely opt for the Amazon pm deal as there would be no tax which is a nice benefit.

Because new version UN55F8000 releasing on March 17 this price is getting down. though there is difference of 1000$ new to Old. Better pick old one
Amazon has a 14 day price guarantee that would cover the release of the F8000.

hahahahaha, i love this comment.

I just bought from amazon. They also give you a 2% credit, so whack another ~$35 discount on there. Downside is, they did not really do an apples to apples price match. They'll sell you the TV for the same price, but it doesn't come with the 4 sets of 3D glasses...which I don't really care about as a single guy with a girlfriend. I'd only need two tops and I'm sure I can find them somewhere else in the future.

Just a Small Note : If you Buy 7500 at that time in Amazon. You have a chance to get free Galaxy Tab 2. Wink

If you really need 8000 series this is good price until today.

I missed out on the tablet deal from 2 weeks ago. I was referring to the restock amazon had this past week on Friday. The ES7500 was in stock and I almost bought it for $1500.

You may want to take a double check on contents of package, because this is what I found it included,

UN55ES8000 55-Inch 3D Slim LED HDTV, Stand, Standard Remote, Smart Touch Remote Control, Four Pairs of Active 3D Glasses, Documentation look around

Keep in mind - you are getting into the non-existent Samsung Technical support nightmare. I have nothing against their TVs (after all all my home TVs are Samsung), but their technical and post-purchase support is completely incompetent at best.
