ohh..My i missed that thread my bad worship
No thread was made for it. I was keeping an eye on the es7500 to see if amazon would get more in since they sold out when the tablet deal was going on. The restock only a handfull and sold out within 30 mins of updating the website.

Keep in mind - you are getting into the non-existent Samsung Technical support nightmare. I have nothing against their TVs (after all all my home TVs are Samsung), but their technical and post-purchase support is completely incompetent at best.
$100 SquareTrade plan from Costco might be a good call.

So you have the ES7100 model?
after two store returns of the 55es8000 of backlight bleeding I purchased the sony 55hx850 instead. Before that i owned the 55c7000 model which had backlight bleeding problems also. Expecting it to be fixed two years later not really..

You may want to take a double check on contents of package, because this is what I found it included,

UN55ES8000 55-Inch 3D Slim LED HDTV, Stand, Standard Remote, Smart Touch Remote Control, Four Pairs of Active 3D Glasses, Documentation look around
Oh shoot, you're right, it calls that out below in the product chart. Sweet.

The glasses come from Samsung, not the retailer as it used to be in the past. There is a special pocket inside the box that holds the glasses.

For that much money, I would get the Panasonic TC-P55VT50 which is $1550 on-line from many places. It's picture is THE BEST, and isn't that why you're buying a TV?

Smart functions of the Panasonic Veracast is much better than Samsung's

Only downside is no 3D glasses included... but per some large consumer survey only %30 of people used 3D once, and less than %5 of people use 3D more than once a month.

From Cnet: (on the samsun UN55ES8000

The good: The beautifully thin Samsung UNES8000 LED TV seems to have come from a year or two in the future. Its massive feature set includes a touch-pad remote, IR blaster, four pairs of 3D glasses, motion and voice command, and the industry's most capable Smart TV platform. Its picture quality boasts superb color accuracy along with industry-leading video processing and 3D performance.

The bad: Lighter black levels and imperfect screen uniformity hamper its picture significantly, especially for such an expensive TV. Samsung charges too much for extra features that are largely unnecessary and poorly implemented.
The bottom line: Although it hits plenty of high points, the Samsung UNES8000 LED TV cannot ultimately justify its high price.

I bought the UN46ES8000 a couple weeks ago with the tablet deal for 1,300. So far its been a fantastic TV and the bezel itself is (almost) worth the price of admission.

I'm hoping i dont see a price drop on the 46 inch before my amazon price match goes away.

So this came out to $1584.99 shipped, you get 2% back from amazon, so $31.70 back in your pocket, so down to $1553.99. I had $620ish in Amazon gift cards from the southwest credit card promotion left. I then had $720ish in discover cash back. I had to pay just under $400 to Amazon and get $160 back, so I'll end up paying just under $240 for the tv. Can't beat that for what was once a $3k tv. I just hope I don't run into the edge lit issues a lot of people have seen.

On the up side, what do you think the chances are that if you run into those issues and this model is out of stock everywhere a few months down the road, you get upgraded to an F8000? I have no clue, I've only bought one tv back in 2006 - Sony SXRD that I never had any issue with.

The sammys have great pictures but after hearing friends first hand accounts of problems and having my own experiences of Samsung not honoring warantees I prefer Sony or anyone who does not censor reviews like Samsung does. The pictures are nice but dark scenes are blotchy.

Be advised that the apps are very advanced but my Sony BD player is faster. The Sammy is better at the GUI part but my HD downloads always have a downloading symbal in the center of the scrreen. Also the smart TV goes through a central server at Samsung and not VFR direct.

The picture is perfect folks! I have yet to see a better picture from anyone.

The UN55C8000 is the 2010 model, and the UN55ES8000 is the 2012 model. The ES model is much better than the C models, which were the first 3D televisions by Samsung.

the "C" stands for 2010 model. I have that very same model (UN55C8000) and the picture is awesome. I have never had any problems with the TV for the few years that I had it.
Around December I got UN55ES7100 and due to technology evolution, this TV has much better picture even though it is a lower class.

The other difference is the type of 3D glasses these TV use, they are not compatible.

I bought an UN60ES7100 at the end of January for $1797 from Amazon and have returned it twice so far. First one had a bend in the frame and dent in the back of the panel. 2nd had a dead pixel in 2 days. 3rd has been good so far. Have a few days to return if any more issues or I find a better deal I've done my research and found that the 7100, 7500 and 8000 are pretty even when it comes to performance, with the 8000 having a better dimming technology and clear motion rate. I sprung for the 7100 because of the price and will stick with my decision until something possibly drops lower. Aiming for 60"+. Thanks for sharing!
