Nook tablet 16gb $66 AC Cowboom

I got two basic Kindles from Cowboom one grade 5 and one grade 6. The grade 5 came with the original Kindle box, charger and an invoice. The grade 6 which was supposed to be the one in better condition and etc. came like you mentioned in a ginormous white box with the Kindle tightly plastic wrapped to a piece of cardboard in the box and nothing else except the usb charger. I got lucky in getting 2 that came with the cheap little usb chargers the Kindles come with. Cowboom's packaging practices don't really make much sense when it comes to what grade item has been ordered but both Kindles I got came in pretty much identical condition when it comes to how they looked cosmetically.

got my shipping notification today for the grade 5 with basically no accessories. I'm hoping mine arrives as cosmetically perfect as yours did. I, too, was wondering how I will charge it. I have several HP Touchpads, thinking I'll try one of those chargers. I believe they are 2A.
If anyone has an great insight to alternative chargers, please chime in.

Those bastards sent me an 8GB model. Unbelievable.

For what it's worth, mine did charge from total deadness using a 1 amp HTC charger and standard microusb cable. From what I can understand, to do any fast charging (over the .5 amp usb standard) the nook requires the OEM cable combined with a 2 amp charger (OEM or quality aftermarket). The cable is key -- it has extra pins and a deeper male connector that meets up with the nook -- the extra pins carry the additional amperage.

I'm hoping to find one of those cables at a decent price -- when I first ordered the nook from Cowboom, B&N had a on their site for pre-order at a reasonable price (I think ~$10). The regular price/item was/is out of stock, and more expensive. My assumption was that this new version is something different and they brought the price down accordingly. But is just a guess. I held off on that pre-order because I wanted to make sure my nook tablet worked before acquiring accessories. And as of this morning neither version is now shown on the B&N site ;-(

I also registered it on the B&N site - it was apparently originally registered with them December 2011.So it's just out of the 1-year B&N warranty, not that it really matters.

The cable/charger seems pretty rare on ebay as well, though it looks like some of the china shippers are starting to advertise them at prices higher than I normally would pay for what i is likely a very slow shipping knockoffs of the real thing.

But as I said, the good news is that it charged and is holding a charge. And I can cope with overnight charge if I have to.

This happened to someone else in the forum earlier. that's going to be the first thing I check. the 8 GB model is also only 512MB ram instead of 1G, correct?

I'm hoping my cable for my nook simple touch might work, or cable for my hp touchpad.
otherwise, I'll probably have to live with slow charge as well.

I'm heard varying reports about the touchpad charger -- you might be in luck there. I tried my simple touch cable. It only does the slow charge (says "not charging" but charges anyway).
