![]() ![]() The Glock case at Gander Mountain, the largest dealer and selection in the state of MN. Their gun counter is half of a football field long at least. One Glock. Think it was a 26 in 10 mm.

[QUOTE=Elmer;58180850]My understanding is that they purchased a similar quantity of ammunition on the last five year contract, so I think you can come out of the bunker for now.[/QUOTE
Yes but they are stock piling big time. No need for that. Some TV show did the break down of Iraq and Afghanistan wars could be fought for 40 years with one order of 1.6 Billion rounds of ammunition. And you say HOmeland is buying up 1.6 Billion for the last 5 years ? You want budget cut backs !? How about. Forcing Homeland Sec to cancel this order and use up the ammo they have already stockpiled. I just saved several tens of millions of dollars |

"The Truck" comes on Tuesday morning before they open, so if you want anything (like an AR) you have to show up early and wait in line. Whatever they get that they didn't have the week before is typically sold immediately and GM doesn't know ahead of time what is coming in. No backorder. No ETA's. No promises. Springfield seems to have met demand very well. Once those are gone, I suppose people will be forced to take up the alternative. It will be a sight to see when the Taurus case is all picked over. ATK/Federal is made here so you'd think they'd be able to keep the big retailers in the state well-stocked, but nope. Why? Take a wild farking guess. Just as when the Fascists get involved in anything, quality drops, prices rise and the market goes to shit.

350 rounds per soldier is absolutely nothing. If that's all the firearms training our soldiers are getting, then we're in deep trouble. Last edited by nobama; 04-26-2013 at 09:10 PM.. |

All of the conspiracy folks who think that the ammo shortage has been caused by government purchases need to go look for .22 ammo on the shelf. Notice it's one of the rounds that's in the shortest supply?
.22 is made on separate lines, in mostly separate factories, with separate workforces, that can't be converted to centerfire ammunition. The machinery is completely different. The government isn't buying up all of the .22, nor are their orders causing the factories to not run .22 ammunition for civilian sales. In fact, all of the factories, domestic and imported, have ramped up .22 production. Yet it's still in short supply. The "ammo shortage" is being caused for the same reasons there have been gun shortages, magazine shortages, bolt carrier group shortages, Acog and Aimpoint shortages, etc., etc., etc. Panic buying, because of pending legislation, and fears, real and imagined, of laws being implemented that would ban or highly restrict/tax purchases of those products. As long as the administration and the DNC continues to flog gun/magazine/ammo control, people are going to buy and hoard, causing shortages. And of course, this means that "X" percent of those items will find their way into the hands of those that shouldn't have them. But perhaps, like "Fast and Furious", that is the intent. |
