Infinity Primus 363 Floorstanding Speaker $117.00 + Tax + S/H

I had my order cancelled from newegg for the previous post of the Polk 65T deal that came out to $275.21 for two shipped and taxed. Newegg is now showing these 65T's as discontinued. Can anyone comment if these are worth $14 more dollars?

Been trying to wait for another $199 deal or free shipping at the $234 price. Sure wish I had a Frys local to me.

These would be RIDICULOUSLY good compared to an HTIB to replace your L/R, or your LCR if you have the space under your video display.

There don't seem to be reviews that I can find easily of the 65T, whereas there are some reviews of at least the Primus 360, including one with actual data in it from Stereophile. Based on that, frequency response and off-axis performance of these should be really, really ridiculously good for the price (assuming one subscribes to the Floyd Toole wider-is-better philosophy). In the absence of data, I'll take the known quantity thanks. Plus the Infinities have some obviously more-careful engineering features. Having said that, without a well-organized blind listening test we can't really say which is better.

How would the KEF Q300 compare to the infinity 363. would spending more on the KEF give a day and night difference between the two.

Can't find any measurements around of the KEF Q series either. But KEF is definitely a company that is well known for making good-sounding loudspeakers. Just some general guesses based on the designs: if you insist on doing no acoustical treatment to your ceiling, have hard floor and object to coffee tables, then you might be better off with the KEFs because up/down is the Infinities' weakness in terms of lobing and poorer frequency responses. The KEFs might be better (I say MIGHT because the port will make that less true at lower frequencies) at this, but difficult to say. If you are a wide-dispersion kind of a person it seems like logically the Infinities might be better--again without data it's a guess (to paraphrase an old ad, only the designer knows for sure). And though the frequency response specifications are similar (but without knowing if the low limit is f3 or f10 or what we can't necessarily say, again guessing) one could expect based on number and size of drivers that the Infinities would be better if you like everything LOUD. But that goes out the window if you have subwoofer(s) and run the speakers as small with a crossover at 60 or 80 Hz anyway, so it depends on your system.

Night and day? I'd guess no but that's just my opinion, and admittedly a guessed one--I haven't heard either speaker play. Without a well-organized blind listening test (or a LOT more data whose interpretation would inevitably be filtered through opinion anyway) we can't really say.

Certainly the KEFs go for a lot more coin over these at the sale price here, but the difference doesn't seem to be much at a more "normal" price. I wouldn't be surprised if the KEFs were more nicely finished I guess, but I'm not much one for aesthetics beyond the basics for functional items.

The room is 22X19 with 9 foot ceiling and opens to the kitchen.

The sub that I have though of buying is the klipsch rw 12d.

I have now also looked at focal chorus speakers which are for a good price at A4L but $600more than the infinity. I want to set it up right the first time and don't want to keep upgrading. But since I am not a n audiophile I don't know if I will heard the difference between the two.

It also has to be wife approved as she want it to match the décor.
