yeah I tried it with my cable box and ps3. The audio sync problem is obviously lagging for about 300+ ms, which does not happen when I plug in the cable box directly. It's so weird that a person would open his mouth and the sound comes way after.

unfortunately, if you cut out the UPC, you can't return it. you can only get a replacement under warranty (which I'm 99% sure that it won't solve the problem). might as well wait for the rebate and use it to watch silent films. (that is probably in black and white, which defeats the purpose of the device...)

Strange...I am not encountering this problem, At least not through my Roku HD. I have not tried hooking up a Blu-ray or other device. Are you using the color settings also? I have not used those, so right now I guess it is in "bypass" mode. Perhaps you should turn off the color settings and see if that removes the lag.

Bypass + all 6 color settings. There is a lag for sure.

It has stops working from time to time as well. The picture goes out and the remote stops working. But that's sporadic and it's not readily reproducible.

I didn't notice it when I first hook it up either because I was busy playing with the colors. But it started happening after 30 minutes to an hour.

Wow. That sucks. Oh well, ....we all kinda thought this might be a POS since it was free. I guess we were right. Now just have to wait for your rebate and relegate it to the dustbin.
At least we didn't pay 19.99 or more for it like those people a few weeks ago...

yeah. it kinda sucks unable to return this thing. I'm going to try to contact the manufacturer first to see if I can get refund/replacement.
well. as long as I got my rebate back, I 'll just donate this bad boy to goodwill.
I don't need color enhancement device anyway. I had receiver that capable to do this thing much better.

I thought it was the redmere cable, but somehow I swapped out a different cable and still doesn't work.

Just curious - we have to pay return shipping to return to newegg right? If so, it makes a lot more sense to chuck out the thing and mail in the rebate. best case you use v.me and get away with $8 cash back, worst case you lose $0.46 to get the rebate. NE rebates are fairly reliable so i wouldn't count the "did not get rebate" as worst case scenario.

Yeah I found out today because I have never returned anything to Newegg in the years I have shopped there. This is definitely not Amazon and I'm rethinking my shopping habits for future purchases. Looks like the best case scenario is to wait for the rebate. What a hellish deal this has been.
