once you commit to purchase and you cc is authorized they bundle the certificates and put them out for an offer that distributors, large retailers etc buy from them for redemption.
for example
lets say they sell 100 pair of headphones for 65/a piece + tax (gear buzz collects $5950 + tax whatever state you're in, they collect tax in case the retailer wands up being in your state)
they turn around and offer bulk fulfillment on 100 orders to warehouse for lets say $5000 - they keep 950 (+tax if warehouse is out of your state) and don't have to ship a single package. and warehouse/retailer don't have to hassle with marketing / costumer support.
if they don't find anyone to fulfill an order within 14 days you will never get charged for the item and there is no sale. (in this case they got someone with overstock that committed upfront to some quantity - when i questioned where is the warehouse to make sure the tax charge is legit - they started with above explanation and then escalate the case to see if i could get refund on tax charge)
then i asked if the order ships from jaybird - and sales clerk said not this batch, but some could if jaybird decides to fulfill some of the orders - but there was no commitment from jaybird as of yesterday night.
so i canceled the order since they could not assure me that whoever I'm getting the headphones from are authorized distributors (for warranty) .
