Thread Details

Gearbuzz [gearbuzz.com] has the Jay bird JF3 Freedom Bluetooth Headphones for $49.95 and $10 shipping. Cheaper than I paid on the Amazon deal a little bit ago.

JayBird J3 Freedom features premium music and calls, with warm bass, tuned to eliminate listener fatigue during long workouts. These Stereo Bluetooth buds feature a lifetime warranty against sweat, six hours of music play time and a secure fit. Designed for activity, having on-ear music and call controls is significant. Controls on a cord can result in fumbling and dislodging of your earbud, a major distraction to your workout. On-ear controls offer quick, confident commands so you can focus and get the most from your workout.

Key Features

Bluetooth Wireless Music + Calls
Patented Secure Fit for Sports
Lifetime Warranty Against Sweat
Premium Audio Quality
6 hour Battery Music/Talk Play Time - Standby Time: 250 Hrs
Official Training Headphone of USA Triathlon

BE AWARE: It looks like JayBird only honors warranties [jaybirdgear.com] for products sold from authorized resellers [jaybirdgear.com], of which Gearbuzz is not
EDIT: Nvm, these ship directly from JayBird

DEAL IS SOLD OUT. Check out this SD post for a similiar price from Frys for the Jaybird Sportsband if you aren't picky about which model you want: http://slickdeals.net/f/5909100-Jaybird-Sportsband-59-99-Frys-Online-and-Instore-lowest-price-ever?v=1&p=58240080&utm_source=dealalerts&utm_medium=em-i&utm_term=242264&utm_content=u399637&utm_campaign=tu-9999

Gearbuzz is offering the JayBird JF3 Freedom Wireless Stereo Bluetooth Buds for $49.50, with $10 shipping , bringing the total cost to $59.50+ TAX. My total came to $62.48 all said and done. Items will ship directly from JayBird. This is 50% of the regular price of $99.

This is right around where the sale price for these have been for the past few months according to my research (recently ~$61 on Amazon with FS in February). I think they're trying to offload some of this basic model stock now that they have the two newer & smaller models released (namely, the Freedom Sprint and BlueBuds X).

Reviews seem mostly good:

Guess I beat you buy seconds. Pain in the ass to post from the phone. My only problem with BT headsets in general is I get lip sync issues when watching video . I'd use them more at the gym for cardio if that issue wasn't there.

Set off my deal alert for the bluebuds...already have these and absolutely love them, in case anyone is on the fence about it. I paid twice this a year or two ago.

Thanks OP. Nice find.

I will say this: the difference between apt-x compliant headphones and non-apt-x headphones (like these, I believe) is ENORMOUS. The Galaxy S3 and a few other high-end phones support apt-x, and if you have it it's worth every penny.

Again, seems like a good price, but the leap in audio quality is pretty enormous. Old bluetooth sounds muddy and compressed. Apt-x, to my ear, sounds as good as a proper cable connection.

I have a pair of these and absolutely love them. The sweatproof aspect was most important to me, but the sound is very good as well. I paid closer to $100 at Amazon when I bought mine last year.

My experience with these and lip syncing is different from dbpaddler tho ... I see no lip sync issues using these with a PC, my iPhone 5 or my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 ... I use these while I am putting in my stationary bike time to watch Game of Thrones, if there were any lip sync issues it would drive me batty in an instant. Could just be me tho.

I do agree some BT head phones have this issue tho ... My Motorola S305 headphones for example suffer from it very badly ... it starts at somewhat close lip sync, but after a few minutes its AWFUL.

I got these when they went on sale at Amazon a few weeks ago. I use them at work and I am able to walk all over the shop with little to no loss of connection (30ft max) with all sorts of interference. Good sound, a little big, but quite comfortable. I'd buy them again especially at this price.

I bought some emerson BT ones a couple of months ago. Only paid $18, but they are a complete waste of money. They work totally fine, but at the gym they keep slipping out of the ear, to the point where I've stopped using them and went back to my $1 earbuds. I've tried all 3 sizes of the rubber ear things to no avail. Do these stay in the ear during gym-style activities? If anyone can verify that, I'll be in for a pair also! TIA

There have been some complaints of a need to keep the paired device on your upper right arm, close my the transmitter/receiver when outside. I.e. running.

Keeping it in one's pocket results in a lot of cut off... Can anyone comment? Would love to jump on these (have been eyeing the bluebudsx for 170+tax, for range/sound quality) but at less than 1/3 price it's hard to pass up......

Damn! Shouldn't have worried so much about double-checking with the preview post! Haha, so long as the deal is out there for everyone to take advantage of.

I use mine while working out every day (with Nexus 4) and never use an armband. 90% of the time I leave my phone in my right pocket, and when doing exercises where I rest weights on my knees I set the phone on the ground under the bench. Rarely have any problems, and often walk 5-10 feet to get the next set of weights without having an issue.
