This is a great deal. Not sure if I should get one, since I already have 40mm 2.8 pancake STM, so this would be almost redundant. I think I will wait for a deal on 50mm 1.4.

This vs pancake lens for around the same price? Like which one is better for what type of photography/video.

I hated the nifty fifty because the AF was terrible for me. It would hunt then blur my pictures in AF. In MF it was awesome but I wear glasses so I like AF when I am taking pics of the kids. THE 40mm seems to be better for me with still pics and video. I am able to get more field of view. |

In the same way a 14mm prime is wide angle prime and a 200mm prime is a telephoto prime. Or an 18-55 is a standard kit zoom, and a 55-250 is a telephoto zoom. |
