Lowes (Houston) - Kobalt Overhead Metal Storage Kit (4'x4') $26 (normally $104) YMMV

As of Sunday evening just before closing, the (Houston, TX) Lowes Gulfgate location had the Kobalt Metal Overhead Storage Kit [lowes.com] on clearance for 75% off making it $26 out the door. They had 3 or 4 left at that time. The online inventory shows 3 right now.

They also had a few of the Blue Hawk 54-in H x 15-in W x 47-3/4-in D 2-Tier Steel Freestanding Shelving Unit [lowes.com] for 75% off making them around $18 (originally $72). I saw 4 left at the time, I believe. (inventory currently shows 5).

Be aware that this is probably store specific and can only be found at the Houston Gulfgate location (or the "S E Lowes" location according to the Lowes store locator). But you may want to check other stores just in case. At the Gulfgate location you'll find them (assuming they haven't moved them) at the main entrance where you see the red grocery carts. Walk in and you'll see a clearance table. The Kobalts should be behind the table on a lumber wagon and the sports racks will be underneath the table.

Please know that this is being posted as a Houston store specific YMMV deal.

I got several of the overhead shelves when the deal was posted in September. They work well if you have 10 or 12-foot ceilings in your garage.

Agreed...I purchased two Hy-Loft units at Lowe's(killer deal a couple of years ago). Took me a year to finally install them; but they make for excellent additional storage above the garage doors.

ANOTHER application, since this price is so good...hanging shelving in the attic. The supports are adjustable, so adapting to a sloping roof rafter is easy. Also, under deck storage might be a possibility if these are suspended from the deck joists...eliminating the need for supports in contact with the ground.

Might have to swing by a Lowe's or two this afternoon. I miss Atlanta, where we had 34 Lowe's stores and over 50 HDs within an hour's drive. EEK!

Correct, you won't see the clearance price online.

As for stock leveles mentioned above in the thread...at least in Houston it states that Pasadena has 4 while Meyerland and N. Central Houston has 1 each (good luck with those two). Just add the item to cart, check the Free Store Pickup box and then click on Change Store. A box will pop up with a listing of 5 stores nearest your location (zip code). Change the zip to see more locations.

Have you tried that attic installation? These are so cheap I was trying to find another use for one as an excuse to buy another one. I had thought about the attic but figured the slope would be a problem. I guess if desperate enough, a couple of 2x4s could be lag bolted to the joists to level things out...then install the kit.
