Generalizing Vizio as a POS brand is probably accurate since they have more POS sets than not, but they have had some exceptional sets. For instance as a bedroom TV I have one of their last sets to feature full array / local dimming, the XVT473SV, and the picture is superior to any of these edge lit POS TVs available today. Which is why I'm waiting for the Sony XBR65HX950 to drop in price to replace my 6 year old Mitsubishi DLP.

You sir, are wrong, hahaha. I love Vizio, never had a problem. Yes, not quite as good as a Samsung or Panny, but damn close. Absolute best of the "bargain" brand, if you'd even call them that. No, they dont manufacture their own panels like Sharp, but they have such a good product either way, and keep their prices low!

I would consider a Vizio for a smaller tv (bedroom use) I guess. But if I'm buying a 70" monster, nah.

I got strictly by the reviews and everyone says Vizio 70" is better than Sharp . . and cheaper.

I bought a mitsu 73 inch anyway . half the price

The DLP was a big steaming POS so even if this Vizio has some problems, I doubt it will be as problematic as the Mitsu.....

Sharp is not that great. I had 2 60" with screen issues. I just settled

If you're going to do 70" or more, do it right and pay the necessary money. I do know there's no way in hell I'd ever spend $4400 for an 80" + Sharp or whatever size it was that's at Costco now.

I have a vizio led lcd that's 3 years old and it's amazing

My father went to Costco to see if they would refund him the difference in purchase price he paid for this TV a few weeks ago. They wouldn't, so now we have to pack this TV back in the box and return it as well as cancel our Costco cards. Granted, we were thinking of returning the TV anyways because the sound goes out and sometimes the Closed Captions turn on by themselves. So much for good quality and good customer service.
