Trying to decide between a HE top loader or front loader
This model seems to get great reviews from most of the sites I have looked on.

Available at Lowe's too.

I would imagine if Lowe's price matches and gives their 10% off.....you cant also use the 10% movers coupon ??

The big plus for me in front loaders are they are SUPPOSED to be quieter than top loaders.

Course, the drawback is that they build up a smell if you don't leave the door open ???

My Montgomery Wards Signature 2000 series washer is finally giving up the ghost.
Got it as a wedding gift.....in 1991 !

22 years, it still works, but now it is starting to walk across the floor when it's spinning.

This machine is foul smelling. My sister in law has it and has to keep the door open. I closed it once because I thought she forgot but she stated if it isn't open ALL the time it gets nasty. Good luck!

I have had a front load washer for 14 years and not had any issues. No fouled smell, no leaks. Still works great. Maybe those that only do a load once a month might have an issue. Just like those that only flush their toilet once a month

You know....from what I have seen online...it seems NONE of the new machines last as long as ones made 20 years ago.

It still works fine, it just doesn't balance the loads as well as it did before.
And now when it stops.....it STOPS !!
No more slowing down.

If not....now I am leaning towards another top-loader.

I'm in the same boat, and just purchased this machine with a delivery next week. However, we plan to see what goes on sale tomorrow in the Sunday Ads and possibly switch to something else. My wife hates the musty smell that developed in our LG front loader, but we're still thinking about giving a FL another try. We did use small amounts of regular detergent at one point in the LG's life, so that may have been the cause. Who knows.

If you really want a classic top loader, look at Speed Queen [speedqueen.com] brand. They are old school and have a very strong following. Easy to repair and long lasting, though I'm not sure if they clean as well or as gentle on clothes as the new FLs.
