I've been trying to get an XPS 12 for a while now, this is the first time a good deal has popped up for my xps 12 deal notification.
I've been trying to get the i5, 128gb ssd, 8gb ram version so I could upgrade the SSD for way cheaper than Dell charges, but it's very uncommon to see the low SSD with the high ram combo. I have a dell studio from about 2 yrs ago with i5, 6gb ram, an ATI video card that i'm going to replace with the XPS 12. If I give in and get the i5, 4gb version, how much of a decrease in performance should I expect? Another concern is regarding dell outlet, I see two identical models of the XPS 12, (base specs) of i5, 128gb ssd, 4gb ram one is $1039, the other is $1109. What determines the variance in price? I'm worried that if I get the cheaper one there may be something wrong with it. |

Intel Core 3rd Gen i7-3770 Processor (3.40 GHz with Turbo Boost 2.0 up to 3.90 GHz)
Windows 8 Pro XPS 8500 Desktop 2 TB 7200 RPM Hard Drive 32GB mSATA caching SSD 12 GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1600MHz 8X Blu-Ray BD Combo (Blu-ray ROM + DVD+/- RW) AMD Radeon HD 7770 Windows 64-Bit $783! I unfortunately need to have a Pro version of windows for server communication at work so my options were a bit limited, but this will be replace a super old, old Optiplex 740 with only 80gb hd :/ |

3.5 hrs of straight video, that's pretty good right? |

Look on the notebookreview.com threads. I think: 1. Update the drivers. 2. Disable Palm Rejection. There are still some other issues remaining, but this fixes 95% of them. Last edited by jnads; 03-13-2013 at 02:03 PM.. |
