after weeks of research, pulled trigger on this. Though IMO price is still $100 higher.

I have had 2 samsungs prior to this, and didn't have any issues. I love the smarthub feature.

This doesn't have an IPS screen, does it? I known some of the Panasonic LED sets do. Big difference if mounting high, over a fireplace, or watching off axis from a kitchen.

The 60" is $2199 is that bad? I know Tigerdirect had it for $1979 a week ago but sold out quick. They also charge tax so it would have been about $2200 for me anyway.

btw, I have the 55ES8000 and it's amazing... as long as you don't watch off angle!!

I also own a Panasonic 65VT50 and LG 55LH90, and the ES8000 doesn't even come close!!

Check out AV Forum for more detailed info on settings, PQ, blacks etc...

Basically, unless you're watching TV in a bright room, and sit dead-center looking at it.... avoid Edge Lit ... micro-dimming, precision dimming... etc is all just marketing BS! Only way to go with a LED is Full Array Backlit with Local Dimming.

Get a plasma instead [ GT or VT 50 - Panny ] and set it on THX - Bright Room mode [ if needed ] !

Someone mentioned earlier that the 60" is $1899 ($600 more), which sounds a bit more reasonable than $2199. Remember, an extra 5" is 19% more viewable area.
55*55=3025
60*60=3600
3600/3025=1.1900825

Going to 65" gives you 39.7% more viewable area
65*65=4225
4225/3025=1.3966942
