The other part I was thinking was that there is bound to be more information digitally saved, and it's far easier now to perform a FOIA on that expanded data. It all comes down to a CYA mentality. Why give the peons something on the chance it could bite you in the ass and take away your power? GZ Case:

![]() And of course it's true for other groups of people in other threads in other situations. People from all walks of life are capable of seeing others who disagree with them as a unified and homogenous force. IMHO that's partly what's wrong with our political discourse (since the dawn of political discourse) - the inability for people to see the POV of those who might disagree with all or part of their own POV. A person who won't read has no advantage over one who can't read. - Mark Twain

What ^ this means is, he has only promised to be more transparent relative to other admins, so what others did is entirely relevant. As the OP points out, that is a low bar to clear. |

Having not done an in depth study, I am unqualified to make that judgement. I'm certainly not going to accept the judgement of the obviously agenda driven OP. Last edited by 124nic8; 03-13-2013 at 12:08 PM.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

I'm a little surprised at some of the stone walls. After all, you can't hold one person responsible for every action of millions of employees. Of course some of those people will make mistakes and even break laws. Covering it up is not appropriate.
On the good side, we haven't seen anything remotely close to the scandals we suffered through under Bush/Cheney. |

Well there is Bradley Manning. I would like a more transparent administration. Bush was far too opaque, and I feel Obama has been worse. This is backed up by the fact that FOIA requests are more likely to be denied and take longer to fill out on average vs. the Bush admin. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ant...07038.html
If I appear to be ignoring your posts, it's probably because you are on my ignore list.
