Just bought a 15.4" MBP Retina with 512SSD, 8GB RAM 2.6 Quad Core Processor for $1,899. They are apparently on clearance due to 8GB ram only. The new ones have 16GB ram. But this is $800 cheaper for 8GB less ram. I think it is a good deal. Damn expensive anyway but for a 15.4" Retina with 512SSD a good deal.
Hey all, I've been looking at this laptop for the last day or so... I almost bought this exact one yesterday from rakuten and now today the deal seems better. However, every time this same deal or close to it gets posted it gets thumbed down with no real concrete reasons as to why it is not a good deal.
I'm not a mac guy per se (never owned one); I want to write some apps for the iPhone though and I thought this seemed like a decent machine to do that on.... If this is not a good deal (my research is limited because until yesterday I knew absolutely nothing about macs), can someone tell me why and where I should look to get a good deal? I hate spending this much on a laptop to begin with but I do want to balance out features / usability with affordability and this seemed reasonable.
Well I'm typing on a just arrived the same MBP 15" but with 16GB ram used from ebay. Although my intention is to build iOS app, but have to say it's worth every penny after used it for half hour. This is the first time I've ever touched a Macbook. There are totally 4 windows 8 latest laptops in my house since this year, and I plan to convert them to mac as long as there is money.
The question really isn't why, it's a question of affordability. The trackpad alone enchanted me.
