Yes, it says that the J1 has been on the market longer than the RX100. And with technology, the price comes down over time.

The J1 came down to $400 in 2013 after being out for more than a year (came out in 2011) - and even the BF deals were for only $400 in 2012.

I got lucky and got this camera refurb for $270 and now $200 is the only other cheap deal I've seen...

For $200, this camera is perfect for those with a small amount of photography knowledge.

It's been sub $400 from a bunch of vendors. Best Buy, Dell, etc, etc. You just have to be on the look out and pounce when the opportunity presents itself.

Got a white Nikon 1 J1 White in my cart for $199 and after submitted my order. The confirmation page show final price as $219.

Customer service refused to adjust the price back to $199. So I end up cancel my order.

The white one on eBay has also increased to $219
